Default Newbie question about forward controls..

This question has been on my mind for a little bit. If you put forward controls on a bike that started out with mids, do you have to have that connector rod on the outside of the primary housing? Or is it often that all the parts are contained inside the housing for a cleaner look?

If your talking about the factory shifter rod it's usually removed and a plug is put in the hole to cover it up. The correct way to remove it requires removal of the inner and outer primary case. I have removed them by sawing them off without having to touch the primary case.

Default Shifter Rod

You have to have an external shifter rod and there is no way around it...

Here is what it will look like. Mine had stock mid mounts and I put the forwards on. You can see the plug in the outer primary where the stock shift lever came thru.

Yeah, this is what I thought. That shifter linkage just kinda irks me as far as the whole flow of the bike goes. It blocks the view of the engine from that side and all that sort of vanity like mumbo jumbo.....Thanks for the heads up though...I do appreciate the help
