I know I posted this question earlier, but I can't seem to get a true answer from the dealership.......
I know a few of you went to a 150 rear tire from the 130 on your WG's. Mine is a 99 model and I was looking at where the rear tire is in relation to the drive belt and it seems to have about half an inch or so before a rub would occur. The dealership (of course) is insisting I have to purchase the wide tire kit even to go to the 150. I thought the wide tire kit was to go to a 180 or 200?
My buddy has a softail (2002 FatBoy) and the dealer talked him into getting the side tire kit to go to a 150....did he have to? Is it different with a softail?
All I need is for someone to tell me for sure yey or ney and I'll do whatever. All I know is that I have a long bike trip coming up and I really need a new rear tire tire on this 99 WG before I leave.....
Any thoughts or guidance?
They also did say that I could go with a 140 and stay with the setup I currently have....are they correct in that too?
I hate to double guess the dealer, but I've been bit before and upsold on items I really did not need.......
Thanks in advance.
