There's a simple way to check for exhaust leaks on a cold bike, I've done it myself. Mix some water & dish detergent and spray around the exhaust ports at the engine. Take a ShopVac hose and put it into the end of the exhaust pipe, and connect it to the vac so it is blowing air instead of sucking. Fire that momma up. You might need to use a rag to seal the vac hose so it's putting pressure in the exhaust. If there's a leak, you'll see bubbles right away at the engine. My bike has what looks like dual exhaust, but they aren't independent, so I had to cover the other exhaust pipe to do this test.
I replaced my exhaust gaskets to fix this. Definitely use copper gasket sealant. The FSM says this is optional, but in my case it was a requirement.

There are two reasons for decel popping.
One is overly rich and the other is overly lean.
You have Vance and Hines slip ons. You have a leaned out motor.
Tune it up and your decel popping with evaporate.

The reason for the other posts was that I was asked for more info and a new post is more likely to be seen, and I got good info on the third post, I didn't know my posts were gonna be investigated, I would rather be out riding more than I would be sitting at the computer investigating someones posts, but thanks for letting me know.
