Default H-D Fat Chizeled Handlebar (Part - 55800422) on 2012 FXDB

Anyone running the H-D Fat Chizeled bars (Part - 55800422) on their '08-'12 FXDB? Or even on any other year Street Bob?

Saw these bars on another bike recently and loved the look, height, pull back, and feel, but since the 2012 FXDB has the integrated riser in the top tree, they aren't a straight fit. I was wondering if instead of replacing the top tree and adding a standard riser, could I just use LA Choppers 1" riser extensions? Thinking this will do the same thing I need to fit the bars and will be at 1/3 of the cost.

Also, I know some people have been able to make 14" apes work with stock cable, so will I need to re-cable for these bars?

Thanks in advance!

At 14 you will have to extend your clutch, throttle and brake cables....12 is max I believe for stock....

Not sure on the whole risers...which part is integrated?

On the '08-'12, the riser is integrated in to the top tree and also angled, so when you go with 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 diameter bars, they hit the top of the fork tubes. So I am pretty much screwed for all of the bars I have looked at since I don't want the 1" ones. Prior to '08 and after '12, they used a standard tree top and standard risers, so they don't rub with the thicker bars. So I was hoping that this riser extension would give me the same type of clearance for less than a 1/3 of the price.

Thanks for the info on the cables. These specific bars have a 12" rise, but says that with the stock riser they look and feel like 14s, so maybe they will be long enough. The bike I saw them on, definitely made it feel like the height was the same as 14s.

I want those same bars for my '17 FXDB so I'm interested in opinions also. Luckily I have standard risers which I believe are 2".

Just a heads up. Spoke to the dealer over the weekend and that 1" extension will work for the '08-'12 integrated riser and you will be good to go having the standard 2" riser. Will find out if the stock cables will work next weekend or or the one after when I get it installed. I'm thinking you should be good since it's only a 2" difference from your stock bars on the'17 fxdb.

Also, ask your dealer if they price match other dealers, b/c if they do New Castle Harley has them for $298 and surdyke has them for $314 with free shipping. My dealer matched New Castle and ordered them for me. Getting them on Thursday.
