Default Troubleshooting rear brake switch
My rear brake light is always on. I know this by disconnecting the rear switch from the banjo, and the brake light finally turned off. Front work just fine. Is the pressure censor damaged or is it something I can fix or should I just replace it? I even took the censor out and cleaned it and bleeded the brake. Hmm... now Im driving with the rear switch disconnected...

What do you ride? Just replace it.

If the light is off and works normally with the front brake when you unplug the rear switch, and is always on when you plug the rear switch in, it's about 99.44% certain the rear brake switch is shorted. Easy test with an Ohm meter.

I had the same problem. Just replace it....it's 10 bucks

I’ve seen the same problem before, but only the opposite way, the brake light doesn’t engage rather than always on(like my situation). Will get a new one tomorrow. Hope the local hd got them in stock

Sounds like a bad switch to me. Don't break the line trying to remove the old one, like I did.

Mine is on third one. Last one was a lifetime (1/2 price to Harley's) Works great.

Shorted or the button is stick in. You can try to spray some WD-40 on to the button on the switch and exercise it with the lever.
