Yep, more leaks if you don't glue the gasket to the adapter and torque the crap out of the new fiiter adapter fitting. I use 3m "77" on all my gaskets and it works great.
Just have the engine warm when you peel 'em off after they have been glued and you will have no problems.
I didn't glue mine or over torque it and I have no leakage. I haven't done before and after temp readings. So I do not know the actual difference. I can say I had it over heating in Chicago with stop go traffic last year and that is when I purchased the cooler. I have hit stop go traffic and heat and have not had it kill a cylinder for cooling when over heated. So maybe it is working.
Someone said a cooler only works with air moving. True to a point, the outside air will move and still disapate heat even when vehicle is not moving. Sure the heat radiating the temps from oil to air from cooler will heat surrounding air,but that air will always be cooler then the heat it is generating. So even while stopped it is still helping to radiate heat away. The amount however and overall effect may or may not be noticed.
Thanx for the info guys, I'm gonna put anythingthat says it'll reduce my ride's heat & make it run cooler (less heat = more power & longer life)
Hey, Iwas looking for oil cooler for some time now. But now I thing I am looking for a fan for the motor . I think thats the way to go because you need air to cool the motor.
