Default Caution When ordering online.

When ordering online from some parts distributors be sure to read all the fine print. I have been looking fora V&H Big radious 2 into 1 , I found several "discount" suppliers" ,Parts Direct offered the pipes the cheapest, great right. Placed the order online. The next day the charge shows up on m credit card, and a automated email is sent to me from Parts Direct. Parts are not in stock on back order, I have the right to cancel in 30 days at which time a refund will be posted in 1 to 2 billing cycles. WTF, it took less than 24 hours to billme for something they don't have. Worse yet they have essentialy, in effect taken me off the market for 60 to 90 days and to throw some more salt in the wound , Dennis Kirk has six of them in stock and will beat anyones price buy 1 buck to include shipping. I emailed Parts Direct's customer service with my displeasure, but as you can imagine, they probably deleted it, They kind of have me by the short and culies right now. I wish I had read there fine print first , but I think a good store would gave me the option to go somewhere else before they charged me. Whew ok I feel better now, buyer beware!!!!!

Call Parts Direct first if possible. The call the card company. I'm thinking they can't charge till they ship. They're probably in the wrong here.

This has happened to me a few times as well.

I fixed this by callingsaid onlineentity, and checking for availability.I havent had thisissue arise again and speaking to somebody on the phone will sometimes get youa better deal on shipping etc etc.

I wont buy scooter parts online, from a company that has no phone numberor wont answer the phone.

_NOTHING_ is worse than a company hiding behind a website, using your money to order and BUY the merchandise from somewhere else. THEN have it shipped to them, and then to you. arrrrgh..

just my .02

YMMV

It should only be a few days that your money is frozen, depending on your credit cards policy, cancel order by phone or e-mail and then call your credit card company funds should be available in 3- 4 days.

For big ticket items I always call first to verify that the item is in stock. I got burned by that before.
