So i ended up getting a yuasa battery ordered from online through revzilla. I initially bought a bettery from autozone but i decided against it due to the horrible review. I got on a paymeng plan w revzilla since cash is tight right now.

I got it in and i just had to add the acid then charge it. It instructed to use an automatic charger w a maximum rating of 2 amps. Or for constant current charging, refer to the table which is 1.8a x 5-10 h just like what it shows on the battery. I did end up getting an automatic charger from autozone for 32 bucks, what my budget allows. Its automatic w a 2 amp rating. It finished charging around 4 hours. So hopefully thats a good time and not to fast of a charge.
All that is left to do is go get my bike from my works parking lot. Then when i have the time and I will check the charging system. Which is honestly foggy to me and unclear. Maybe when i hot the cash ill take it to a shop. But id much rather learn myself.
Thank you for the input and advice. Lets see if this bike starts up. To be continued....

I went with this yuasa. 320 cold cranking amps.

The stock battery in my 2012 dyna was rated at 315 cca. The battery you bought is rated at 270 cca. What was your stock battery’s c.c.a ? Probably won’t be a problem in California lol!

Honestly i didnt even think to look at the cca's on my stock battery. Rookie mistake i guess. Lol. Well between this battery i got and others available through revzilla the guy said this runs better in the cold...well compared to the lithium battery. And i do ride in the cold. But the coldest it gets here is 30 degrees and above. So i hope thats efficient for here! Where do you live if and how cold does it get over there?

so i did end up getting the bike home that day of my last post. Took a late night trip and installed the battery. Was heavy on my mind. It started right up. 2days agos that was. This morning i realized that i prob didnt put the bungee strap on the battery to secure it. So i check it, sure ebough its dangling outside the battery cover box. Another rookie mistake lol. Gotta say, its started right up! Sounded great, felt great!
The only issue i have w the battery is, it is a tight fit! I had to push it in there w some bit of force. Its a lil concerning but not to much. Just wouldnt want the houseing of the storage area to crack. Anyone else have the Yuasa YTX20L-BS AGM Battery in their dyna and its a tight fit? Overal glad to have her back home. Happy holidays everyone!

Good for you, you got the bike home. You still need to test with a multimeter. Even if you bring it to autozone until you can get your own. Battery test- cranking test- and load test. You always want to get a battery with at least the factory recommend c.c.a.

They are not to pricey at harbor freight.

Do you mean to borrow their multi meter? Or for them to test that stuff for you? I asked the one in my hometown if they test the charging system for you, they said no. But yes i need to, i need to figure it out how to do it. Noted on the cca. Harbor freight is a good place to go for cheap tools, il check it out.

So my red light on my speedo went on again a week ago. I pulled over and turned off the bike. Turned it on and it was slow on startup. When i got home I put it on a charger and it charged fully in 5 hours. I charged it again for another 2 hours after my last ride before taking the bike out today to an indy shop. The guy works on nothing but harleys from what i have seen at his shop. Seemed to know his stuff.

But everything he said when it came to my bike and the issues im having seemed wrong. From what i have read and advice i have gotten here anyways. He said the red light is for the fob. From my understanding, its for the fob and electrical. I do not have a fob and i told him. He also just checked the battery. He said its reading good. 12.somthing volts and 14 something volts at rev. I asked what about the stator and the regulator? He said as long as the battery is reading good i dont have a charging system problem. From what i have learned, if the battery is good, then check stator or regulator. Im going to see how it runs these couple of days coming up.

If he got 14 volts when the bike is running there is nothing rong with your charging system. 12.4 to 12.6 is the reading you want with the bike not running. When the bike is turning over to start you don’t want a reading below 10. When the bike is running you want 14 to 14.6. if the bike reads below 14 when running then you suspect a faulty stator or regulator.

Ok thank you for the info. That gives me peace of mind along with the gentlemen's words from the shops. I will just keep an eye out for anything and put the battery on a charger like once a week or so since its my everday work commute.
