My dyna wasn't idling like I had hoped so I thought I would pull it apart and see if there was something wrong. I put a rebuild kit in it and reinstalled it and know it won't pull any gas. Ive checked all the obvious things and am baffled. It was fine before I pulled it off. Any help?
Yes the carburetor. Just took off the original carberator and put in a rebuild kit. Reset idle mixture new float and such. Just installed a rebuild kit reinstalled the carb , turned it over. No gas to the carb. checked the vacuum from the tank.
You need gas to the carb. Turn the little gizmo on the petcock 90 degree. If the petcock has a vacuum hose attached to it, be sure it is hooked up and good shape. Do not remove it. If necessary repair vacuum diaphragm. It is a safety device.

You reattached the vacuum line from the carb body to the petcock and plugged the others? Correct port attached?
I have near-zero experience with that setup as I hate those parts...for this kind of reason...
Will the engine run for a minute with just fuel in the bowl or stater fluid? I don't know if that petcock has a vacuum override setting (reserve maybe?)...you may need to prime the fuel line from the tank and the fuel bowl on the carb so it can run long enough to pull a vacuum sufficient to open the petcock.

Assuming the carb was completely drained of fuel when you reinstalled it, it takes some cranking to get gas back through it.
Also, those vacuum petcocks are real pieces of you know what. Get a manual one.
