I like the duracoat option. I've been wanting to do my forks but didn't want to go through the hassle of disassembly and sending out to get powder coated. I may give that a try, its cheap enough. Do you still have to sand the lowers before application?
I hear ya. Once I get the chrome ones installed this spring, I think I will paint the OEM sliders gloss black and sell them on ebay or craigslist. There is not much of a demand for the OEM sliders in stock form.
Both my bikes have 'em......both done by the previous owners lol!! The Street Bob they went from the factory gloss black to a flat to match the rest of the bike. My FXR has more of a wrinkle black finish on them....check my sig pic to kinda see them.
