First the bike specifics - It is a 2008 Dyna Fat Bob with a Vance and Hines exhaust, Big Sucker air cleaner and a FuelPak FP3. Other than that no other engine work has been done.
Second the problem - Took the bike to Daytona for Bike week, rolled it off the trailer and it started right up. Went to leave the campground and everything was fine. Pulled out on the road and gave it throttle and it almost died. Pulled back into the campground, checked codes and got the Throttle Position Sensor and MAP Sensor. Replaced both of those, didn't fix the problem. Tore into the tank and check the fuel filter, housing and lines - nothing wrong there. Unplugged the FP3, still no fix.
If I slowly roll on the throttle everything seems fine. Just won't go anywhere when I jump on it under load.
I think I see the problem. It started with "I rolled it off the trailer". The Harley gods are pissed at you now!
Some trailers are really bouncy, check that all electrical connection are good and tight. Blocked fuel screen?
Something plugging your quick release on the fuel tank?
Had you done any recent mods or repairs?
I once had a pinched wire for a connector that wasn't used for my Streetbob in the area of the TP sensor. Sometimes it would be good for months and then once in a while the bike would die under quick throttle opening and then fire back up without a problem.
Reminds me of a problem someone had years ago, they finally found they had a "pin-hole" perforation in I think a hose in the fuel tank, some rubber part like that in the tank.
Check battery terminals. I have an big inch fxr that loves to loosen the battery terminals. Will fire up and rev while in neutral but will sputter while In gear and go on and off
Thanks for all the suggestions. I disconnected the check valve from the tank, and it leaked fuel like it was an open fuel line, Someone told me that this could be an indication of a pin hole leak in the in tank fuel line, and that a leak like this can cause any number of error codes. I have order the new line for delivery this weekend. I hope this solves the problem. If not I will try resetting my map and then start tracing wire connections.
