I have heard of at least one other guy who did have to take the bracket under the motor off because he got interference with his TH. I took mine off because it looked like crap just hanging there. You need this to do it right https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Let me take a look at the bike. I didn't see anything there when I was putting stock foot pegs back on instead the silly ones the PO installed to match his silly grips and shifter peg. All that HD matching stuff isn't my style.
But my question still stands: What does that P on the rear header pipe clamp bolt to? Anyone know?

Sorry I missed that part of your question. There is one bracket that comes with the TH, it bolts to the outside of the tranny case and it has a mounting tab for the P bracket and at the rear two mounting points for the back of the pipe. Maybe the PO removed that lower bracket already, that would sure be lucky.

I'm intrigued by your Cerakote idea. I got my TH lightly used so it has a couple of scuffs and I already added a couple more to the shitty finish. I was going to have it powder coated next winter during downtime but I went looking and found a reputable Cerakote shop in the next town over. Anyone done this before to their pipes and have an idea about cost?

Place by me quoted me $250 for the header. Just as a reference. Thats probably inflated east coast pricing though...
Nice! I wrecked my dyna and pick up a low milage ultra classic ...its a beef cake. Luckily I just managed to pick up a beat up Evo Dyna which I am currently rebuilding. Dynas really are the best.
