So it wasn´t a big deal after all. Just required some patience. Started with 80 grain. Then 120, 400, 600, 1200, 2000 and finished with 2500. From 1200 up I used wet. After sanding, used a bench grinder mounted with cotton buffing polishing wheel. Final results were above expectations.
