Default 2009 FXDL Rear brakes

I'm down. On the way home last night the bike was lugging, just a couple miles from the house. Got it home and looks like the rear brake locked down and dragged the pads. I hope that didn't warp the rotor or fry the caliper as it got pretty hot. I guess I will be rebuilding the master cylinder, yippee. 2 weeks before the local rally too. And shipping from anyone, anywhere, has been slower that molasses.
Any pointers or tricks you guys know to help me out?

Sure, clean the caliper piston sides really good, before you push them back into their bores in the caliper. I mean REALLY clean.

You got ABS?

Well, let the fun start. I haven't bought any parts yet but I opened everything up today to see where I stand. The DOT 4 looks like ****, and it wouldn't hurt to replace the pads. So I'm going to start there. Get new pads and flush the rear brake system. The wheel bearing seems to be OK and the rotor looks OK, I have not checked the run out yet. I'm going to start the cheap way, and only buy the parts needed.

How's the fluid up front look? Like coffee? If so, then it's oxidized. Get rid of it too

. And, if your pads are down to 30% material, get new pads in there.

Badly tapered? Change 'em.

Just saw this JW, but you already fixed it. All I could have suggested was the piston cleaning and a fluid flush anyway. When did you get that bike, haven't seen you mention it before.
