Bluing from toooooooo lean fuel mixture. PV / fuel moto / request map from FM / down load / install
Running way to fat will do it too and quicker, the popping problem he has says that to me, lean enough to be causing the blue it'd be coughing back through the intake bad and stalling.
OP find a decent Indy shop, most dealers are clueless outside bone stock bikes and yours is trying to play you as a goober, take your money & bike elsewhere.

Too rich will cause overheated exhaust?
My last blower car I could lean out the idle mixture screws 4ea. and make the headers turn red while idling.

Oh yeah running real fat will discolor pipes in heartbeat, particularly where the open header pipe hit's the baffled section, yellowing chrome down away from the port is sign.
I had a 64 6cyl. Falcon that would cherry red the exhaust manifold running highway speeds after long periods at night too, that was bit disturbing first time I found that.
This forum is great! I am glad for all the input. Wish I could have talked to the original owner. I bought some chrome polish and will try to get some of the blue out. Now that it has the stage 1 map in it and the popping has change and subsided, it is a good possibility that was the problem. Who knows the pipes could have been that way before he changed them out. I do have a set of stock pipes coming that were take offs and laying around a shop. 129 bucks plus reasonable shipping. For me I started with a 1966 900 sportster with a magneto that about kicked me over the handle bars as a teenager. Now with the newer bikes, belt drive fuel injected and doing 75-80 and having the option of shifting into 6th gear is like heaven to me thinking back over the years. I can deal with stock but I will miss the sound, it does sound so ***&%&^$*** good. The bike is happy that it is seeing some road, I mean how would you feel hanging in a garage since 2013 with only 1100 miles on you. If it does not straighten out I will go the Power Vision and professional tuner. Now what do do with that COLOR. LOL
