I have a 2009 Dyna Super Glide and removed the fuel cap that was factory. I have installed the Harley speedometer with the tach and fuel gauge in it. Of course the low fuel light stays on all the time. How can i resolve this? Is there something i need to plug into the connector under the tank?

2016 Softail Slim FLS, Didn't work for me.

Ordered this to eliminate the fuel gauge on the left side of the tank on my 14 fat Bob....it doesn't work.....if you want to put a dummy cap on the left side then search the web for the how to on gutting your stock gauge and putting the dummy cap over it.....now I do know in 14 that Harley now has a canbus electrical system so I don't know if that has something to do with it but it didn't work for me.......
This is based on a hunch and not actual knowledge so take it for what that's worth. I think this might have something to do with CANBUS, because this sounds like one of the things on the list of "accessory" type electronics that tend not to work right when you mix pre and post canbus parts. Turn signals, horn, that sorta thing.
Two of those three bad reviews are for 2011 or newer bikes, so maybe this gismo is made for non-canbus systems. OP your 2009 would not have the CANBUS system.
that plug didnt work for me either.....in order to delete the fuel gauge....you still have to have the electronic part hooked up even if you have a fuel gauge in the speedo....i took one of my harley diamond black fuel gauge guts out of the cap and stuffed it down inside the hole with some padding to keep the vibes from messing with it.....then installed the gauge delete cap over the top of it.....works perfect....i might even have a spare laying around ill send you if that delete plug doesnt work....lmk....

I'll add that one of the great things about doing it this way is that the low fuel light continues to work.
