I assume you are referring tothe sidecover where the clutch cable goes in, in that caseitis a simple fix. I was able to get mine off without removing the pipes by modifying an allen wrench. Even if you have to pull the pipes it isn't that bad.

I removed the pipes to get to side cover, cover with clutch cable comes off no problem, its the inner cover i'm not sure how to remove.manual shows pressed bearings in this cover I just dont know if the whole tansmission assembly has to come apart to change the $5.00 gasket.

took me a while to figure everything out. i replaced my gasket couple weeks ago. the bearings are pressed onto the shaft. essentially you have to pull the cover towards you while pushing the shafts away from you.
easiest way would be to get a side door puller. i didnt have but a gear puller worked. was a PITA though.
nonetheless, no more leak.....
