I have a 06 Dyna Wide Glide with weird engine stumbles and backfires. It has had this problem since I bought it 2 years ago with 4500 miles on it. I found out through these forums that there is a problem with early fuel injectors.I have the ones that end with the part number 06 rather than the update 06A. I found the updated one and bought them. The Harley manual says you have to remove the whole assembly called the induction module. I saw a Youtube video where the guy changed them by just disconnecting the fuel line and taking the bolt out that holds that part of the assembly instead of the whole thing.
Has anyone done this? Do I need to remove the Induction module. Does someone else have a video this one wasn't detailed. Something I can follow through and read or a few pictures? I am very mechanical been working on cycles since the early Honda point and carb days. Always a bit scared of the new high pressure fuel parts.
I've done this to my 06 Low Rider. Yes, if you remove the tank, horn, and top stabilization bar and cylinder mount you can get to the injectors on top of the induction module to change them. It is a tight space to work in though and you have to be careful not to damage the seal rings when putting the new ones in.
