Good looking Ride Bob. One my buddies that I rode to Sturgis with just bought an 09 Electra Glide from them and is really happy with it.
Heck we just had a 4 day weekend...would have been the right time to come down and pick it up! And you could have stopped by for a beer and we could have hit the North Georgia mountains which were absolutely beautiful on Friday!
You could call Fuel Moto and discuss the tuners with them, I'm sure they will lead you down the right path...or road!
I thought about that but with this covid b*******, I didn't want to have to take time off of work. And the beer really sounds good... I would love to get down there one of these days..
IF you're going to self tune:
You have to have some way of measuring things- you can use the onboard O2 sensors & either tuning device to record the closed loop areas of the map, while riding, as long as the AFR desired is set to where the narrowbands can measure it ( 14.3-14.7 AFR). This data is used to modify the map. Comparing what comes out to what was requested, and adjusting the VE tables, so that happens (AKA calibrating the VE tables). Once done, you can adjust the AFR desired table to whatever you wish to run, and the ECM will do the math. You can use this to do all of the low load areas of the map, as long as the narrowbands reported good data while recording. Setting the AFR desired table so there are no red bars ( closed loop active indicator) simple ignores O2 feedback.
If you want to calibrate the WOT areas, you need to use widebands to measure this area. Daytona Twin Tech, Innovate, Powerdex, AEM, ECM-Lambda Pro, ECM-AFM all make wideband setups that will work with a TTS green VCI (which allows for 4 analog channels, so you can record narrow & wide bands at the same time, as well as EGT, fuel pressure, etc)
This is a common setup for tuners, not so much for the DIY guys. If you wish to mine for best power, a dyno, or a drag strip, is really handy. (Or the great white dyno- Bonneville)
setup to record data reset AFR for 13.8 cruise/idle, 13.0 WOT/decel
I like TTS, because it was the original- they made the Screamin Eagle Race Tuner, SE downloads, and SE 1 time use cartridges for HD starting with the EVO injected bikes, and I worked for a dealership for a couple decades.
Just so I understand this, You say that I can physically go into Master Tune and change the VE tables to my desired AFR's (as in the second graph) and load it into the ECM and even with the narrow band sensors still achieve my desired AFR's? In other words the ECM will not try to change the values because they are out of the Narrow band sensors ability? Would this be the same as when with a Dynatec 2000i ignition system I create an ignition curve based on RPM load it into the ignition module (over write the factory curve) it stays with the new curve.
If my thinking is correct this puts it into a type of over written mode forcing the ECM to achieve these values? But what confirms this if the Narrow band sensors can only read down to 14.3
Not so funny thing is, I see more information out there on the power vision than I do the TTS.. Most likely will be the PV. Do I really need the Target Tune add on or will the PV PRO be fine..? And just so I understand the tuner is like $450 and then I have to get a separate kit another $400 for the cables and sensors Is that correct?
Buy Power vision from Fuel moto save a good bit and outstanding support. keep your sales number and FM will supply you with tunes as needed for any changes. The Power vision alone will serve most people very well. And the options it offers for other use are nice to have. PV is so simple to use but does so much. Hardest thing to get figured out and it is not hard is taking an emailed tune. Loading it in the WINPV software then copying it to the Power vision.
No, you use the system to measure what VE is needed to achieve the closed loop AFR request.( first setup). Record data, run through VTune, flash the changes, record more data, run through VTune, flash the changes- repeat 3-5 times, or you feel you have hit as many cells as possible. Once you're satisfied the VE table has been calibrated so all the math is accurate @ 14.5, simply change the AFR request to what you wish to run ( 2nd table). The system will adjust the math in an effort to achieve AFR desired- there is no feedback, as the AFR request table is now outside the narrowbands accurate range. The more accurate your calibration @ 14.5 is, the more accurate the system will be at the new request.
The map will stay at whatever you put in it- you can request 10:1 AFR or 15:1 AFR, and the system uses whatever is in the VE table to determine how long to open the injectors. The only time the system edits the AFR request is temporary, like Knock retard events, acceleration enrichment, or warm up (adds extra fuel temporarily)

Ok, so I spoke with Bob over at FuelMoto and He was able to help me set the correct path for what I will be doing with my first Twin cam.. I am confident that after I make the motor changes I will be able to tune the bike appropriately.. And Yes I will need the PV basic and Target Tune which is what thought because the stock setup cannot read 13.8.. Thank you every one for all you input...
I thought about that but with this covid b*******, I didn't want to have to take time off of work. And the beer really sounds good... I would love to get down there one of these days..
Bob when this COVID crap is over and you are going to be down this way, give me a shout. We'll hit the mountains and have a beer.
another recommendation for the power vision from fuel moto. just tell them what your set up is and they will send you a good tune for it.
I spoke to him about the setup and they don't do much with the cam I'm installing so we discussed a Woods 555 setup with Hillside stage II heads and a Supertrapp pipe... The 555 will get me close and then a few sessions of auto tune will get me there.. Thanks...
You are going to like auto tune. And they way you like to tinker with things, it's going to be perfect for you. It's also nice to have the onboard real time gauges.
