Hey Chris, your point is the same but for clarification, that's not a Stock Front or even your Stock Rear on the Right ... just here to help
.
My bad. Didn't mean to mislead. I know it's not my OE rear so I assumed it was a front since I didn't remember ever getting a rear caliper of the same vintage as my front end conversion. Bottom line, I don't know what the hell it is.
I guess he must have, Mike. Todd sent me quite a bit of stuff but I only used the front master and calipers. My memory is pretty selective since I have so many hobbies and various projects can span decades. I often have to sorta relearn some stuff when I transition from one to another.
99 with stock master, Wilwood GP310 caliper, matching low-mount bracket, and Lyndall floating rotor. The bracket and caliper are custom finished to better match the stock fronts but mechanically unchanged.
With Lyndall Extreme pads (to match the dual fronts), I think the rear brake is a bit too aggressive (too easy to lock up) so I want to try their lower grade(s) once I get to the next stage of the build.
They list the piston area as 2.46 square inches. They're 4 piston calipers, so .615 in2 per piston. My math puts that at 22.48mm dia each.
It looks like wilwood made the caliper to match the stock master, idk. What do you think? You happy with the stock master with your caliper? I really think a different master will give you more control of the rear brake combine with your setup tho.
I don't know what their design intent was but I'm pretty happy with how it feels. Combined with the pads and rotor, it's a significant upgrade from the stock setup. However, I still suspect the Extreme pads have too much bite for the rear with my combo.
