Is this rubber coated rocker cover gasket OEM and it's it better than the Cometic foam over metal gasket.. I would think so but correct me if I'm wrong, please...

That looks like the OEM gasket. It is indeed better than Cometic. Other places Cometic is good/better but the rockers, HD wins.

I'm in the same camp of take the oil pump off and inspect it and re-align it on re-install. Personal experience. First time friend and I did our cams at same time together, neither of us took the oil pump off, both of us had problems. Next time I took it all apart, inspected, re-aligned, not an issue since and I've done it that way a few times now.

Mine tripped the oil pressure sensor light and wouldn't build pressure. I ran all sorts of diagnostics but it just wasn't working. Had to take it apart to fix. My buddy was worse off. His oil pump was damaged and we had to replace some of the gerotors. Nicked his crankshaft up a bit but we sanded it smooth and re-assembled.

I got a little bit more done this morning.. I got the lifters in and adjusted the push rods and I'm about to button up the top of the motor... Here's a little clip of how I do pushrod adjustments..

So after I got the top end all back together, throttle body back on and everything... I wanted to do a second compression test... I did a pre tear down compressing test and had 178 psi front 170 psi rear and now that it's back together I did another compression test and it actually came out higher than I was anticipating... Calculations should have been at 195 PSI but I'm actually up to almost 215 psi on the front and 208 psi on the rear. I hope it doesn't become an issue trying to tune this... We'll see what happens.... most likely it's definitely going to have to go on a dyno now because of the high compression readings.. I believe initially in the gauge it looks like it's starting out at 10 psi but I just went back in the garage and looked at my gauge to confirm it it is at zero... I must not have cleared it totally...

Couple things I wanted to pinpoint, was the very first stroke got up to 162 lb and then finished out at 212 psi.. It's in the pictures.. Should be a good runner...
