Default Locking Foot Peg Clevis Mount

So I have some Thrashin’ mini boards installed on my street bob. These mount with the standard foot peg clevis mounts, versus the larger mounts found on floorboards.

Issue I’m having: if these get “knocked” in or upwards, they may easily destroy my pipes.

I know it’s generally not the best idea, but wondering if it’s possible to lock these in the downward position to prevent them folding upwards? Figured with forwards I’m not really risking dragging/scraping ‘em.

May be stupid, but thought I’d ask if anyone has any strong opinions or ideas.

Make your own, take a fender washer figure out the limit you want and use a hack saw to cut 4 notches out, use a hammer and punch while the washer is in a vise to push them over. One would catch the peg and the other would catch the mount facing the other direction.

Would not limit them totally, just keep them from folding up far enough to hit the pipe.

Can you grind or modify the mini boards to remove just the part that will impact the pipe? From the look of the picture it does not look like there is much that will impact the pipe if it is folded up.

Man, I wish. Here’s an older pic with different pipes on, but there’s only around an inch of travel before the rear corner makes contact.

I found my forwards are the first thing to scrape. Can you notch the footboard for clearance?? Hard to tell by the pic.

Unfortunately not. I did call Thrashin’ supply, and they advised against locking these in - for the simple reason that if you clip something with ‘em, your tire is coming off the ground. Not sure how that is different from regular boards, but it makes enough sense to me.

They said the best bet is to just over torque the clevis bolt with a locking nut and some loctite, to make it much harder for them to flip up.

BUT, this may finally push me to further forward mid controls. $200 but peace of mind that these boards aren’t going to crimp my new pipes if *knocks on wood* something happens like a drop.
