Here ya go. It actually sounds fairly tame on the video but it really can be heard over the exhaust from like 15 feet away. I tried to move the camera around between front, rear and cam chest, but any opinions would be appreciated. Regardless, I might as well just readjust pushrods to make sure.

Bike is a 98” with S&S 570EZ Gear cams and the Screamin eagle tapered adjustable pushrods that we know make noise 🙂

This is actually not correct. Not all cams use the same base circle as stock. Some high lift cams use smaller base circles to allow for the higher lift since the lobes can only be so tall (limited by space in the cam chest) These cams generally also require high lift valve springs.

Yes sorry, had heads done and new springs. No issues there 🙂

I think you are on the right track to readjust. I'm not familiar with SE pushrods. I used S&S. Tappets took a few seconds to pump up and it quieted down. That sounds like mine when I first started it up.

Yeah sounds like a rear PR might be a tad loose in that video.. I would readjust.. Setup the lifters as noted in this video @7:00 in.. Also what did you set the pre-load to? I believe SE pushrods are 24 tpi.. Count them to make sure and set the preload to 3 turns and 2 flats for 24 tpi

I agree. Either your lifters aren't pumped up or you need to re-adjust. Did you have the heads decked/cut at all?

Yes I did. I readjusted pushrods, I put them at 3 full turns instead of the 2 1/2 to tighten things up, the sound isn’t any better.

Since I got some head work done and using .30 Cometic head gasket...do I actually need to “shorten” the pushrods or put less preload? Drop to 2 full turns maybe?

It sucks that the sound of a blown lifter, too short of a pushrod, and too long of a pushrod almost all make the same sound. Clank clank clank.

Additionally, I’m running a 95” base map from FuelMoto. Could this be the source of the noise?! If I got this thing dynod with the proper map could this all just disappear?

I’ve got some S&S lifters on order as sort of a last ditch effort to quiet things down and start from square one.

It really sounds like your lifters haven't pumped up yet. You adjust the PR's according to the manufacturer of the lifters. Some instruct 2 1/2 turns, some 3, some 3 1/2, etc... Some you bottom out and back off 2 turns.. Other things that could cause the clatter is loose rocker arms or they could be tapping the rocker cover (sometimes they have to be clearanced when you go with heavier/bigger springs). I'm pretty sure the noise has nothing to do with your tune or your headgasket. If it were me, I'd verify I adjusted the PR's according to the manufacturer of the lifter's specs then I'd just go ride it for about 5 easy miles.

Yeap, did that. Put 5ish miles in yesterday and still have the noise.

Running Screamin Eagle adjustable taper pushrods. Instructions say 2 1/2 turns but I opted for 3. Not sure if I should go more or less honestly....

Def could be rocker covers due to new springs. This is snowballing pretty big here haha.
