Default Longer Shocks on a Super Glide

Has anybody done this? I'm tired of scraping pegs going around corners with my FXDCI. (Previous bike was a Sportster, and I never scraped pegs on it.) I've adjusted the stock shocks up all the way. It helped some, but I'd like a little more.

I 've seen some folks have put bagger air shocks on, which are nominally 1/2" longer than the stock Super Glide shocks. Has anybody tried Progressive Suspension 412-4002 (13") or 412-4003 (13.5")?

raising the rear without raising the front is generally frowned upon as it will have a negative afffect on trail and may produce undesired results.
you should be aware of this before proceeding.

I talked to Progressive and they indicated that 12.5" shocksare the tallest allowable with stock pipes or slip ons that are similar to stock length.
Some of the VH pipes like Big Radius would allow you to go to a taller shock like 13".

In a discussion with Works shocks I was advised that raising the rear shocks alonemay make the bike steer faster.

I ride agressively and if you can live with shorter pipes you can go to a 13" or 13.5" shock like the FXDX/T. I would suggest increasing the fork springs with 13ish shock length. I use to have a FXDXT and traded it for a EG Classic for 2 up. I like the 07SB especially since I put the 103 kit in. I plan on going to 12.5" Progressive and change the fork springs and use a heavier oil.I'll just live with not riding as agressive.

Yeah, it looks like the lower shock mount will hit the muffler if the shock is 1" longer than stock. Even 1/2" longer would be close.

True in theory, but in reality Harleys and cruisers in general are so low in the rear that raising the rear isn't going to do anything but increase ground clearance and maybe, quicken steering a tiny bit. I don't see how that could be considered an undesired result.

As you mentioned - This will change the trail and generally make it more responsive at low speeds (quicken the steeing), and somewhat less stable at high speeds. To me the latter would be an undesired result, but maybe not to others.

This Dyna (FXDX) has 13.5" shocks, and stock exhaust.
