Iam 5'3' and have a 2007 Streetbob. Iwould like to install forward controls. With the stock seat forward controls are a bit of a reach. Anyone have any ideas as far as maybe a reach seat or a type of adjustable controls? I am wanting to install big radius or the Hooker style radius pipesso, Ineed to move my controls. Thanks.
Wow - hard to believe your the Only 5' 3 " Street Bob Rider that has ever wanted to put fwd controls on thier Bob and has wondered if a reach seat is available to help you do it. Nobody else out there?
Well I am not 5'3" but I am a short-legged 5'6" and I fit into the HD forward controls ok. I will admit on long rides the calves get a little tired, so I installed the heel rest kit too and it made a big difference. Might be an option for you. Good luck.
A reach seat or even a custom seat would help but I'm not sure how much if you are 5'3". Kuryakyn carries a bunch of gadgets for adjusting footpeg positions. You might check and see if they have something you could use to adapt. But, IMO, it seems you are a candidate for both a reach seat and adjustable highway pegs that are adjusted as far as possible towards your feet. It's not like me to recommend highway pegs but that may be your best option. As someone else said, you don't have to remove your mids for big radius pipes, at least as far as I can tell. I have the pipes but I have forwards but I can't see anything that would prevent you from keeping the mids.
I KNOW A GUY WHO HAD HIS BOOTS RAISED. THEY LOOK LIKE 2X4s but his feet are flat on the ground and he can reach his forwards... Makes me laugh but it works.......
believe it or not any aftermarket solo seat like a Barebones, Hollywood Solo, C&C is going to put you closer to the forwards... the stock seat actually pulls you up away from them about 2 inches ....the aftermarkets lower you, but only put you back an inch or so ...at least that's my experience
