I got impatient and pulled the trigger on the Legends. Adjustability is pretty similar to Ohlins and there are 2 choices of spring rate, so again very similar. Cost isn't an issue and the Legends were only about 100 bucks less than Ohlins.

So, we'll see I guess...it's going to be a long wait till next spring.

Yes. You and your bike will be much happier if you do. Also at this point you should be looking at either a longer kick stand or a kick stand block.

That's what I was thinking so I ordered the 14" Legends. How much of an extension on the stand? An inch enough?

2” would be ideal, 1” is better than nothing.

I've got a 1" extra length Drag Specialties kickstand sitting on my shelf. It's yours if you want it.

Hey Man, thanks for the offer. I ordered a 2" block from BungKing so I'm all set.

Take care!

My Legends showed up from Dennis Kirk yesterday already. Do any of you guys run your reservoir toward the front of the bike instead of the back? I really would like to keep my solo bag and if I run them as recommended I'll have to ditch it. I sent an email to Legends and they said it would "generally be okay" so I'm just looking for more opinions/experience.

9 months after the first post in this thread and I am actually doing the work...finally. I realized that I started a couple of new threads with questions about this build that I should have just condensed here...my bad.

My current status is that both fork legs are completely torn down and I need some info before I can start to put things back together again.
  1. I am using TrackerDie +2 damper tubes that are pre-drilled for Gold Emulators; however, I noticed there are a total of 4 holes instead of the RaceTech recommended 6. I'm wondering if the setup is different due to the increased length? I've reached out to Cory but haven't heard back yet. Does anyone have experience with this specific setup?
  2. My RaceTech DVS setup sheet indicates that my fork oil should be at 165mm and preload of 25mm. How does the +2 damper tubes affect those numbers?
I'm hoping guys like @Mchad or, @Toecutter will chime in also

It's more the area of the holes rather than the number. The want enough area so the valves become the controlling factor, not the damper tubes.

If you are using the stock length springs then add 2" to the preload. Oil level should stay the same unless you've added 2" to the suspension travel.

Yeah, that's another thing that I should add here (it's earlier in this thread) I'm replacing springs as well. Here's what's on the parts table
  • RaceTech 43.5x3043.5x300 1.00kg
  • RaceTech Gold Emulators
  • TrackerDie +2 Damper Tubes
  • SpeedMerchant Preload Adjusters
  • 20wt fork oil per RaceTech
So if the springs are completely different, even if they're the same length would fluid and preload remain the same?

I've been a mechanic my whole life but I've never dealt with suspension,.this is all new to me and I'm learning as fast as I can.
