I recently changed the V&H Staggered, on my 2014 LR), back to the OEM exhaust and I couldn't be happier. However now that I don't have the loud V&H exhaust I am noticing a new whining sort of sound.
Once I get underway I am getting this extremely annoying whining sound. If I roll off the throttle or pull in the clutch it goes away so I don't think it is a wheel bearing.
I usually ride with earplugs or a set of wireless earbuds and I can still hear the whine with them in.
Does anyone else with a stock exhaust LR or Dyna notice this?
Any thoughts on what this could be?
As much as I like the quiet OEM exhaust, I think this new noise is more annoying than the loud V&H exhaust.
May want to check your belt tension and or belt alignment your bike does not have the cam adjusters. Can you tell which side of the bike it is coming from?

I took the bike to a Inde near my house. The guy is pushing 80 and still rides and still works on Harleys.
He took the bike for a spin and he said it is the belt. Hopefully I will be dropping the bike off tomorrow to have the belt adjusted and aligned. When I asked about how much it will cost He said $20.
Thanks for the advice.

The last time the wife rode with me was 1982 before we were married. We rode three hours, from Liberty NY to Queens, in the pouring rain. She hasn't been on a bike since.

That's a great deal from your guy! I got rid of my last wife because she whined every time we went for a ride. Said it scared her. Buh bye! My current wife (30 yrs now) is my soulmate and rides her own!
