I think I used the exact same wrap 1 50ft roll from Summit racing, I don't know how you ended up with half of it left but it looks good.Truth be told I think yours is what inspired me. Anyway here's one more pic with my new home made heat shield.

for you guys witht the thunderheaders: did you wrap the individual pipes seperately and then cover the 2 into 1 part?
I started with the front pipe at the bung for the O2 sensor, had my wife hold it while I secured it with a hose clamp then wrapped it down to the point where the pipes are welded together with that square piece of metal. Then I wrapped both together out to the second weld on the muffler and back to where they seperated again. Then wrapped the rear pipe up to the O2 sensor and secured it with a hose clamp. Most of the time I overlapped about half the tape but it was a real pain comming back up the rear pipe so I may have over overlapped trying to get a smooth wrap.I actually had to do the rear pipe twice because after I was finished I stepped back and looked and discovered I had all kinds of wrinkles on the rear pipe.In retrospect I wish I would have started above the O2 sensors I ended up having plenty of tape to do this and the tape itself was plenty flexible to go around the O2 bungs and still look decent.Even though this is not a perfect solution it does noticably reduce heat comming off the pipes and looks cool as hell in the process. The heat comming off the rear cylinder head will still barbeque your right thiegh at a stop light and I don't have a solution for that yet.

Ed, lookin at your pix, I thought you had wrapped around
the o2 fittings. Must be the black paint.

It is not a problem to wrap around them.

And, you do not have to use aclamp at the beginning,
unless you like that look. I don't.

Did you soak the wrap good before wrapping??

Also, the ONLY reason to wrap is for looks.

Mucho hotter than the heat shields.

Or, if your chrome heat shields get forked up.

What kind of saddle bags and brackets did you use? I wanted to keep the stock tail lights and not do the relocator kit. I like the look of your ride. The pipes look good too.

Can you wrap over chrome? And if you do what does the chrome look like when you unwrap it later?
