Thats what I was thinking as well, tear it apart once and get it all done at once. Would like to do the heads as well but a little to costly and really dont need it at this time.
I would do the HeadQuarters #0034 cam as a first choice, or the Andrews 37G. both work greatwithout head work, you may find out the this is all you want to do at all. You should have and extra 20 lbs of torque from off idle to almost 5K rpms! so as an average from my bikes first dyno at 72 lbs + 20= 95 lbs... youll be needing back tires before you know it!

My arms are about to fall off right now, after just a 20 minute ride on my wild 95 in.

I stayed with Chain drive because of my builders choice, the 07 has better chain tensioners, Andrews and other folks has come out with new 07 cam plates to reposition the chain tensioner.

I have a carburated, so-called "stage 1"02 RK and the miles are starting to creep up there (34K). My indy has done quite a few TC88's that suffered horribly from those damn chain adjusters. So I'm thinking it's gear time. My question is how far from the stock cam grind before you need to have means to adjust ignition timing as well?

If you are just bolting in a set of cams, nearly every maker has one or two grindsthat will work great with nothing elsedone, but maybe a little carb tuning.
