Finally installed my 11/16 master cylinder as part of my dual disc upgrade on my FXDB. I tried getting my mirror installed but it won't fit. The threaded part of the shaft barely passes but the unthreaded portion is a big no-go. I looked it up and the FXDLS has different mirror and acorn nut part numbers from all the other FX's. WTF, why??? I am using long stem mirrors and there is no FXDLS equivalent, just short stems. Has anyone run into this? I guess I'm going to have to ream that hole.
Yeah, so I think I need someone to supervise my posts...and I wasn't even drunk. The bike was on the lift, so I was reaching up above my head to put the mirror in. After doing a ton of research and posting this, I figured there's no way it's a different size even if there are different part numbers. So I went back out to the shop and tried a 3rd time. I put a little downward pressure on the mirror when the non-threaded stud made contact with the hole in the perch...and it slid right in. Some days man...
