I'm out of ideas. Got the new right side brake setup on my FXDB, so brand-new master cylinder, brand new caliper and brand-new lines and I can't get any resistance on the lever. I bled it, bled it again and a third time. No air in the system that I can see. Tried the lever zip-tie trick and it helped a bit but still too much travel and not enough braking. Bled it again with the MityVac, no change. I have no leaks but mush at the lever and too much travel.
The only thing I thought might be the issue was air trapped in the distribution block, but I unmounted it and tipped it both ways to drive the air up and nothing. I also have SpeedBleeders on the bike now. Any help would be most appreciated.
I have not used speed bleeders, but I have figured out on the normal bleeders when I have used the mighty vac, it would pull air past the threads on the bleeders when I cracked them and continually pull air back in the system. I was only able to start the bleeding process with the mighty vac and then finish bleeding them manually. That was especially true on the rear brake. When I manually bleed them I move the lever very slowly when the bleeder is open and tighten it back up before it bottoms out. It always is a slow process for me. I have also left the cap off the master cylinder over night to try to let the air rise to the top.
All that being said, it can be a bitch some times. I have tapped the calipers lightly with a rubber hammer, thumped on the brake lines etc to try to get the air bubbles out. You probably have done all of this but this seems to work for me.
