I've seen posts in years past where the owner has taken the TH to a muffler shop or moto shop and had their pipe shortened. That could be an option. I don't think a TH is quiet and seems louder when I wear my FF helmet.
As the previous two posters have noted, it is really the compression that’s going to increase the sound level. Get it bumped up to between 10 1/2 to 11, put in the appropriate cam, and it’s going to hurt your ears when you blip the throttle when it’s idling.
years ago I rode a hot rod dual carb Panhead with straight pipes- a local guy asked how he could get that sound out of his stock Shovel. I told him he would need to spend a bunch of cash & he decided that his sounded OK .

That's no joke, my hotrod 93" shovel run's 11.7-1 comp with a .600 cam and that thing will set car alarms off 2 blocks away just blipping the throttle during warm up. Has a serious crack to it running unmodded cycle shack 2" tapered pipes
