I am not a high-revving rider. I want torque down low to mid range (that's why I chose those cams), so instead of going to a 110" kit would I benefit from just higher compression pistons, new valve springs and the cams?

EDIT: I just noticed the CR-570II cams recommend a cr no higher than 10.2

Thats a lot of stuffing about and cost to get a louder sound. You don’t need to change valve springs. Those cams or the cheaper Andrew’s 48 will give you more down low and in mid range but not gonna make it louder. More noise = v&h exhaust = usually less performance

Just to be clear, I'm not going to do engine work for volume, it'd be for performance. My original question asked for recommendations on replacing the Thunderheader with something louder when I swapped cams this winter. At the end of the day, it's not that important, just trying to make conversation during the boring summer months when the forum is quiet (like my Thunderheader).

I am thinking of converting to a chain-drive also, so that would be a much higher priority than new pipes.

If you want louder, cut the TH at the end of the first cone and pull all the guts out.. I'll guarantee they'll be hearing you 2 counties away..

Louder more open the pipes the more low end the bike loses. But most racket kiddies are only concerned with hey dig me.

As stated by others, cams and compression will change that. The thunderheader on the built 98" in my TSport is MUCH louder than the one on my stock 103 in my old '16 low rider
