I install my tmax with auto tune today to my surprise every thing seem to work fine very little popping and no pinging, even the green 6 speed light. I watch the afr readings they were at 12.5 +- .6 I through that it would be higher at idle like in the 13.8 like the map says it should be, may be it because the bike was not warm up yet. I look at the basic settings and the last row said need firmware 4.5.
12's are good for 1st starting. You did the intialization after installing the maps I guess. if you see the line moving or the afr's that's good. Now you need to go out and just take it easy at 1st and ride yer bike. The more you can ride the more it will give the auto tune part to tune the bike. After you've been riding it for a while start twisting on the throttle and winding the bike up some. Yer TM is going to watch the rpm's and the TPS sensor and adjust itself from there. If you have low restriction exaust you can expect some poppin. You can come back and hook it up again and look at everthing again. You just need a lot of miles for it to tune.
When you ordered yer TM you could of ordered it with yer present setup too. I guess you already know that oh !
Congratulation on yer new Thundermax with A/T.
When you git a chance download the full manual off TM web site and look at it.
Yes I have been in the back ground and watching what you guys were talking about and taking notes. No I did not order the tmax with the map install I wish I could have. I did notice that when I install the firm ware update it was the same rev that was on the tmax I accidentally install it over the one on the tmax every thing seem to work. I did notice that I did not see a pomp to clear iac module offsets like the firmware upgrading procedure says I was wonder if I should do this. What is the iac âauto button for and do I need to use it.
Thankâs for your advice about how I should ride my bike about taking it easy. I think I should reset my learning fuel adjustment because I did not ride my bike that way for the first 10 miles with the tmax
Under map editing you can clear map fuel adjustments and learned idle. just make sure you have the closed loop part check and the cord next to the TSSM is plugged into the cord on the TM for auto tune. If you have any problems call suppost with TM and talk to them.
