Default T-Max help

I know this isn't the "proper" place to post for help on this topic but I think this IS the place I'm most likely to get help from.

I've got a 07 FXDWG with Python slash cuts, Arlen Ness BS, and the T-Max. There's nothing like it in the maps provided so I'm wondering if anyone here has a similar set up and if so which map they used to start with.

I'd reccomend you call zippers customer service and see what they say.

You are suppost to read the instructions, you start with the year and model of bike have, you go with the kind of pipes you have or the approx ones, if you've done a upgrade on the airbox , if you've done a upgrade on the engine, Make sure you set the part for the speedometer, check the box that says closed loop. and link it to the tm, Did you take the cord on the side of the bike with a plug cover on it and plug it into the cord on the Thundermax so you can make it go into auto tune. You have to iniatlize the bike also. It tells you in the instructions how to do that too.
let me know.

Go to www.thunder-max.com and download the instructions or the 110 page manual.

Actually I did both already (called Zippers AND downloaded the manual).

It feels like it's running rough at higher RPM's and is occasionally backfiring on decel. I was hoping someone else here had a similar set up and had identified a good map to start with.

I've had the T-Max on for a while and just added the pipes and AC this last week. Everything was good up to that point...

Got a Tm with A/T on my 07 Wide Glide . Put one on my buddy's 07 Street Bob.
Did you check the box with the closed loop on it. This is important. Did you plug the cord at the fuse box with the cover on it into the Tm so it can go into auto tune.
Did you initalize the bike.

Go to efi maps
map difinitions
emgine mfg
engine family piston type

Do all this and it will give you a map number,
Also did you update yer software and firmware before you started all this.
Go to configure and make sure the closed loop is checked.
Then link it to yer bike and write it.

Yep
Yep
Yep

Like I said, everything was good till I installed the AC and pipes. I even called Zippers and used the map they recommended since they didn't have one that looked (to me) close to what I was running...

I'm just hoping that someone else here has a similar set up and can share what's worked for them before I start trying a bunch of different maps.

I just installed mine this weekend.
Arlen Ness BS
Cycle Shack slip-ons.
I had popping on decel and engine braking going down hills.
I followed the links on another forum and downloaded version 4.5 of the firmware and installed it. I only get popping a little on downshift now.

If the base map you start with is not a close match, it takes longer for the auto adjust to come into play and get the tune right. there are settings for how much the auto tune can adjust each time you run the engine. Default is 5%. I'm going to change mine to 10% to see if I can quicken the self learning.

All I know is I have smooth power in all gears across the band now. I'm overall happy but still have some tweaking to do.

I've got the latest firmware revision installed (broke the 6th gear indicator light on my bike btw) and the latest software revision of smartlink.

Do you remember which map you used?

Give it a least 500 miles with your current configuation. I might take a more time to tune it in. Don't get too frustrated just yet.

I'm not saying that after 500 miles the TMAT will be perfect. But it will be close and will only require minor adjustments to make it better.

If you looks at the instruction theres a place to go in and change some settings that will correct the 6th gear indicator light on yer bike also.
If you have low restriction pipes its gonna pop some when you let off the throttle or gear down.
