My stock Lowrider seat was OK for me but my wifes boney butt did not like it. I had done 325 mikes in a day without much of a problem but that would have been about it for me. On the other hand, she was good for maybe 100 and that required stops.
I put a Mustang Ultra touring on last week and it made a big difference. Last week we took a 100 mile ride that took almost 3 hrs. This week we went 300 miles. 175 out in 2 hr 45 min with 1 stop and 125 back in 2 hrs without a stop. She said her butt was fine but now that she can stay in the saddle longershe needs some different options for her legs.
Jay, I will probably hang onto the seat for shorter rides around town.
psc, I am looking into the Kuryakyn setup that drops onto the existing peg mount and extends the arm out 4 inches. The only thing I am concerned with is what they look like when you fold them up. I am concerned that boards will be in the way of my legs when I try to back up the bike.
My quest for a seat for the wife finally came to an end for me too! After a sheepskin and gel pad purchase that didn't do the trick I finally purchased a sundowner touring seat. She thinks its awesome and I am tickled pink.
I put the kuryakyn swing wing foot pegs on for my wife, they allow her to move her feet around on them and she likes them a lot better. One thing though they are but uggle folded up in the up position, hit my legs a little but not as bad as floor boards for her I figure. About $150
I learned a long time ago you can't be happy if your wife ain't happy. So a little bit of big seat / ugly pegs and bumped shins ain't that bad if she is happy and rides with you SOME of the time.
