Can anyone help me? I’m installing an aftermarket tach on my Dyna and on the instructions it says to connect the RPM signal wire to the negative pole of the ignition coil.
On the connector for the coil, there are 3 wires, as seen on the diagram below.
I tested them with a test light and the white wire in the middle (B) is positive and the two others (A & C) are negative.
Do I have to connect the RPM signal wire to any of those two or should I connect both to the RPM wire?
The instructions make me think they are for a standard one plug wire coil for instance a old style VW coil. Besides the pug wire socket on the coil, there is one marked "+" and one marked "-". The "+" is the input to the coil and the "-" goes to your distributor. I'm thinking the instructions are not telling you to hook it up to the "ground" wire but to the "-" terminal.
