Default Sissy bar extension

Have you guys ever heard of an removable extension to a sissy bar? Wasn't sure if one existed. The passenger backrest on my Dyna really short (only 6in) and carrying any bags or luggage is a pain.

I kind of miss my bagger where the sissy bar is a bitaller. I can keep a pack on it facing to the rear and a duffel bag in the passenger seat. Now I'm just restricted to a duffel bag. Kind of inconvenient for long rides.

I thought about looking at ones that that are removable but so far I've seen oversized one and not sure if they're removable.

I tell you it's not been fun learning to live and adapt without a cage.

Get a quick detachable mount then get two sizes of sissy bars.
A shorter one for everyday use and a taller one for when you want to run a bag.

For another option, you should be able to unbolt the bar itself from the two vertical plates and bolt in a taller one in it's place. Just make sure you get the correct width, in 2006 Harley changed the dyna frame and I think went to a wider rear fender.

I think mine is already set up that way. It has the tabs on the current sissy bar to quick release. I didn't know if they made ones that are a little bit taller. I seen ones that are absurdly tall. I hate to look at those that look like they're 4-ft in the air and from the 70s. Yes I'm being a little sarcastic

I've sen them in sizes from about 6 inches up to several feet, like you mentioned. But in general there are the small ones and the mid sized ones. I have one on my Dyna thats about 10-12 inches high, I run a bag on my seat using the sissy bar. Its nice because I leave it on all the time and use it as a backrest too.

The problem I have now is trying to figure what was the most practical, sensible size without it looking gaudy.

Here's a pic of my set up with and without the bag on the bike. It works perfectly for me. I can put the bag on the passenger seat and use it as a backrest for myself, and if my Missus wants to go for a ride I either take it off or just spin it around to sit on the luggage rack.

Might be helpful to post a photo of your current setup to get better suggestions of options that would work for you.

I've got an 18" CycleVisions sissy bar on most of the time, bolted to HD rigid mount side plates. For long trips with my wife on the back I swap on a shorter HD bar with a big Mustang back pad and a luggage rack. They attach to the same side plates with 4 bolts. Takes a minute or 2 to swap out.

This is my normal setup, I usually have a small pack strapped to the sissy bar.

I don't have a better photo without the bag on it, but there's a luggage rack under it. Really convenient for longer adventures.
