Default How would I tune these pipes?

Story goes, bought the bike as showed in the pic. 2010 Fat Bob. Had those pipes on it- V&H Short Shots? Side Shots? Forgive me, I'm knowledgable around bikes, but still learning on Harley. Also had an FP1 tuner, the one where you punched in the numbers from the catalog.

It didn't run well. Raspy. Popping.

Yanked the pipes, put the stock headers on with some slip ons, yanked the FP1, and used the stock ECU.

Bike runs just fine.

If I wanted to put those V&H pipes back on, what would I need for a tuner? Not necessarily looking for power or anything, just for the bike to run properly. Or, will it run properly at all? Thanks.

I would think any basic tuner would be able to take care of any issues caused by those pipes. I'm not familiar with the FP1, but perhaps it had a wrong map loaded into it or just needs some adjustments to the fuel and/or spark map. Hopefully someone with knowledge of how the FP1 works will chime in.

Pipes to scrape pile would be a good start. The warp will turn them into a pile of rust anyway.

I pulled the codes it had on it, and nothing matched with the bike. I redid it, and it wasn't any better.

I was thinking perhaps dropping it off somewhere, but I'd like to be able to pull the tune off it if the pipes simply just don't work.

Kind of what I was wondering. Like, if this pipes could be even tuned at all. The wrap was done by the PO because, "it burned his leg when he rode in shorts". I'm not the biggest fan of chrome, so I prefer the looks of the wrap instead.

mmk, I think I'll just leave it with the slip ons I have now.

That's a good idea. The stock headers with a decent set of slip-ons is much better than those ugly things that blow dust all over your bike and anyone else's that are unfortunate enough to have parked near your bike.

Man, I wear an RF1400, plugs, and helmet speakers. Those things right through all of that. I've acclimated to the slip ons now, so I thought maybe I'd try those V&H ones again.
