Just some info: I have a 2013 Fat Bob denim with V&H big radius. The exhaust covers needed touching up, I called V&H, and as many of you know, no they don't see touch up paint for their flat black pipes.
I checked around and settled on VHT flat black caliper paint ( good to 900degrees). I painted my heat shields, and they came out great, sprayed well, and look good when dry. What I also found was that once dry
the paint appeared to be a very near perfect match for the denim paint on my tanks and fenders. I've not had any issues with peeling or bubbling after several thousand miles. I'm very pleased with the results.
Texture was a little different on first coats, but a light sanding and the final coat feels fine.
