im running the tw-6. Just dropped in the cam on a stage 1 Screamin eagle intake and pipes, on my twin cam 88. A little less off the line but on top it pulls sooooooo much harder than the stockers, this is by feel no Dyno. Also I did NO tuning, just drop in the cam and rode. ( with hydraulic plate /tensioner upgrade). pulled the plugs ( not the best way) so assures mixture, and seems ok, but I would tune it, I already ordered a pv3 and would Dyno before and after the tune and post it. Then ill do a 95 build with ported heads 0.30HG with 85cc heads and 4.6cc dome pistons ( ccp 186 corn comp 9.0:1) I have the parts. Ill post that Dynochart also. To the OP. if you don't plan on big bore get the 509 or tw21 or 26, just pull straws cause they gonna be the same in performance , go for the best deal. If you wanna big bore later ( its cheap enough and will give power) go for the tw-6 or tw-555.

Agree on the big bore comment but cam selection depends on much more that displacement. TW 6 or 555 might be good choices but might not.

I was looking at the Fuel Moto Dynojet charts and they seem pretty good for good enough usable power.. not to much where it starts to get expensive by having to upgrade other parts. There are good cams out there, but Wood is really really a solid choice for room to improve and run good now as well ( stockish) lol

Update on cam specs.

I can agree with @paulmedford . At higher RPM the 26,37,510,TW6,etc.. cam group should give more. If I was running hammer-down for miles, those should be a better cam. From experience around different cams, the 26 and 510 have more of a "Harley Sound." Others in that group should also. At my age I don't run WO anymore. Just cruising around with low end torque and a little roll-on racing give me joy. The 21 and 509 are similar and fits that riding style.

I added the 48 cam for general comparison.

I spoke to FM on the phone, they are the biggest woods dealer in the country. And suggested TW222, which I might do.

One thing nice about Andrews is their online catalog has nice suggestions. I went with a 37 on my first build which was 98 and now 95. I wonder if cam that comes on little sooner would have been better for, especially for a heavy bagger. But back then on forums everyone was doing 37s. Forums have trends. Speaking with FM I said maybe I should have went with 26, his reply well it only opens a few degrees sooner. Cams are something I would like to learn more about. Reading Andrews description maybe 21 would have been good.

I have had good luck emailing Andrews. I am sure the others guys are similar.

One thing I didn't like with FM is their kits want to bump compression over 10, which is popular by many people and many people think it is just fine. But I also know people talking about how they wish they would have added compression releases. I am not sure their compression.

I have a friend who is a processional builder. He said I may be to conservative and lost out on sales, sells to regular folks who ride every day and take their bikes to work, and goes with lower compression. He says you will upgrading drive train next.

you cant go wrong with a 95/98 big bore with around 9.0-9.5 corrected compression with some good ported heads, This will yield more than enough for the money invested, less upgrades and an enjoyable on the street, with 93 octane

Agree. I started out with 98 revperf. After 50k miles, I had deep marks on the thrust sides, and it would have cost $100 less than S&S steel liners, which can probably be bored .005 over next time So I bored my old ones to 95. Personally think 88 bored out is a great bang for the buck.

A non EPA compliant cammed and ported 95" is probably better than stock 103, or as good.

On the 96" build I am doing, I debate increasing displacement, just cause it is open, but on the other hand I feel 96 cammed and ported is nice build.

I am eager to see the temps once I cam and port my 96". My 2007 is hot, and cams and heads are what is different.

if it has the 4.375 stroke it should rev lower and with a good tune not be too hot. good combustion chamber shape to piston dome shape and squish is vital for good efficient burn and knock avoidance. So while its out optimise the heads, for the pistons you have.
