Back in the day, if a part fell off yer bike, ya hit the brakes to know you can stop the damn thing, foot peg check and exhaust check. If it kept on running down the road, whatever it was, ya don't need it.

Such is the case of a snap ring sitting on the floor.

Extra Large
Large
Medium
small
extra small

Mine are specially made. "Micro."

Check your bike lift or bike jack. Maybe it came from that (fell off) or as previously mentioned a tool you used. By chance do you use a magnetic tool tray? Could have been stuck to that the magnet from another repair that could be non bike related?
