Default Windshield question

I have an 07 Wide Glide with the factory quick release hardware with a Clearview windshield.
i don’t like looking through the windshield and was wondering if anyone with a WG mounted the lower release clamps below the lower triple clamp.

Ive placed zip ties on my fork tubes, found some **** *** roads, the longer fork tubes never come close to smacking the zip ties that represent the bottom of the docking hardware.Tried really hard front brake too. No issue

Just looking for reassurance

Thanks

It might hit the headlight...

I cut the top 2" or so off mine. Plenty of you tube videos showing how to do it.

Cutting the top down is the move. I did it several times on my FXDXT windshield. Tape it off on both sides, mark based on original curvature (or use fishing line from fixed point to mark your new arc). Cut SLOWLY with jigsaw, then do a bunch of wet sanding with up to 2000 grit to smooth out that edge. It'll look like it was done at the factory as long as you don't accidentally scratch the face while sanding like I did...

I have done this a few times. I made a post on the last one for my FXDC. Hope it helps!
