I'm running the SE one on mine. Looking for a smaller and lower profile air cleaner cover though to give more knee room.

I am running the SE on mine with the round cover. No problem and great performance.

You could lose the football cover. The element depth is the same, but the circumference is less and it looks infinitely more cool showing off more engine chrome otherwise hidden behind the oversized stock cover.

Ok I just went out and got that small round air cleaner cover like you guys were mentioning. I wish I could get the black trim ring off the original football cover and put it on the new one. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it off the old cover without damaging it?

I didn't use a round cover. I had an insert from a kit that included covers for the derby, timer, and air cleaner. I just removed the a/c cover from the foorball and slapped it on the K&N.

A while back, someone posted a pic of their cover wherein they did as you described and cut the internal ring out of the football. I have no such tools nor skills, so I took the easy way out.

Ok I went at it with a hair dryer and a thin piece of plastic and I got it off. I went and got some 3M trim adhesive tape and stuck it on the new air cleaner. I like it.

Gives the bike a new look and gives me some more knee room. I'm glad i punted that old football cover.
