Default Fuel pump

Hey can anyone steer me in the right direction on where to buy a fuel pump for my bike? I also dont know the part #. I have found some from generic fuel pump sites that make fuel pumps for ALL types of vehicles.. Should I stick to a HARLEY part? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Below is a link to a parts finder.
You can use it to finder part numbers and to identify part names.
The part number makes finder parts easier online.

It looks like you may have a newer bike.
What makes you think that fuel pump requires replacement?

Most go after market but once your year and model are identified there should be somebody to confirm but Quantum appears to be one brand used.

Check out Fuel Pump Factory, they have kit options or you can buy individual components.

Have you pull your pump yet? I had an issue once upon a time where I thought my pump was going out but it was actually the line inside the tank being cracked and the engine was being starved.

Question OEM Parts?

I would consider a Fuel Pump to be a critical part.
It's just my opinion, that OEM Harley-Davidson parts are the best replacement for (most) critical parts.

You do have a point although I'll also say that Harley sources their pumps as well. The way I see it, if you are replacing everything like I had too, go with any well known supplier in the aftermarket, FPF, Quantum, Marren or source it from a reputable brand like Walbro or Bosch if possible.

If you prefer OEM that's also fine too, different folks, different strokes.

To the OP, if you want to find you an OEM pump check out Harley's Parts Website

Thanks, and the bike is a 2010 wide glide, It also has the stage 4 screamin eagle kit on it... Well the reason I believe it to be the fuel pump is because.... I made a mistake of putting ethanol fuel in it... and a good amount of time went by where it SAT in the garage... probably 5 months.... I finally went to start the bike, and when I did so I realized the battery was bad.... Even though I keep it on a tender , The battery was bad.. So I got a new battery, Then put it in.... Well when I go to start it, IT turns turns with plenty of power, but just wont start..... Then also the factory screen that shows how many miles I have left in fuel is showing LOW fuel , LOW fuel, yet I have over a half a tank in there... So thats my assumption is that its the fuel pump? I dont know , this is my first Harley...

Thanks for the info... No I sure havent taken the pump OUT yet...... The bike sat with ethanol fuel in it for like 6 months in my garage.... Then I went to start it, and the first battery was dead even though I keep a tinder on it... So I got a brand new battery, and went to start it, and it TURNED perfect yet it didnt fire ..... And there is an electronic meter that tells me how many miles I have left on a tank.... Well its showing LOW FUEL, yet I have a half tank in there.. So its strange...

You've got kind of a double post going on there, next time use the multi quote button and then the quote button on the last post you want to quote and it will drop all quotes into the reply thread.

Your low fuel light would likely be your sending unit, it probably has some corrosion on the variable resistor section, you might could save it by cleaning it well with a plastic brush and some contact cleaner.

A battery tender will cook a battery if left on too long, that is a common misconception that it will keep the battery healthy over a prolonged period. If the bike is going to sit for a long time the best practice is to remove the battery cables, charge it to full and then let it rest until you need it again.

When you turn the run button on does your fuel pump do its prime cycle? If not start check checking your fuses.

Im not getting the WHINE at prime, I checked the fuse for the fuel pump and all seems good.... But I am getting trouble codes P001 and P1004.
