Default External breather with screaming Eagle Air Cleaner

My Son has a 2013 Dyna (switchback FLD) but this should pertain to all Dynas with the 103....

He just bought this bike and it has the HD Screaming Eagle hi flow air kit (still same outer air cleaner cover, but it's a new aluminum rear mount and the SE air filter.
(It's also tuned with a SE tuner, and has Vance & Hines duals & monster slip ons)

But has anyone installed an External breather kit with an air cleaner set up like this?

Do you have room to drill and tap some 1/8" pipe threads in the back side? I hate using silicone but that's about the best thing to plug those rubber things with.

I didn't like how they run under the filter seal and went with an S&S stealth air cleaner.

Here's a link to the hose barbs.

Actually, I believe I do... I'll have to take a look.

Thank you!

Theres tons of posts on this. A lot of folks use the DK Customs kit, but its pretty easy and probably much cheaper to buy your own supplies and DYI.

I looked on DK (I used their kits on a few of my other bikes) but their website isn't laid out the best.
I'll email them.
Thanks!

Thank you... yes, they replied and basically don't have anything other than confirming that it will be a DIY drill and tap & "make it work".
There is no need to change the filter or mount, as I will have to just modify what I have.

Thanks all who replied and was checking to see if something else was released recently or any other options.
Thanks again!

Using that backplate will need some creativity. You need to vent those breathers, without affecting the integrity of the air filter seal against the back plate.

With that in mind, and just looking at your back plate:

You can probably route the front cylinder from the breather bolt, out side the seal area of the air filter. You would need to fill-in the seal portion with JB weld or other good epoxy to maintain the integrity of the air filter seal. (first pic below)

I would route the rear cylinder inside the filter seal area.. You can use a special fitting to route the breather line from inside the back plate, out through and behind the back plate. (first pic below)

I have used that fitting for both breathers on the open 103 HO air filter on my Low rider (second pic below)

Since I'm not holding the air filter assembly in my hands, I can't say for sure if my ideas have merit... they are just suggestions from ideas I have used, to get your creative juices flowing...

Exactly correct ... "creativity" is what's needed on that particular backplate.
