Are you sure about the seat and the 3 inch extensions? Something sounds off here; I had a 2000 WG and my 32" inseam had my legs barely bent to the pegs with the stock seat. With a 31" inseam the stock setup should let you stretch out and extensions would make put the pegs too far for you to reach?
Agree with you and I also have a 32" inseam.

But I've since changed to mid controls. 🙂

Default 99 WG

I’m 6’0 w/ a 33” inseam. Stock fwd controls keep my legs & feet just about perfect. Maybe another inch would be tolerable, but anything farther than that would definitely be too far forward for me. I’ve also got 16” apes and a Saddleman seat. Perfect set up for me.

I think there’s a lot of great advice on here for you, but there’s also a whole lot of “it depends.” Mainly, it will depend on the bike you choose and a healthy amount of miles during the trial & error phase of tweaking everything while you break it in to your ergonomics and riding style. That’s why most of us have a garage full of take-offs and stock parts!

Thanks! And great looking bike. And you're totally right. There's going to be some trial and error here (can't tell you how many seats I've been though on my RG and I'm still not completely happy). But what I wanted to make sure what that I'd fit on it... and that it would just be a matter of finding the right acessories and positions. And from the advice, it sounds like I've got that confirmation. You can imagine it was a bit of a surprise for me to get on a WG and feel cramped, after hearing so much about how great they are for taller riders! But I'm not as worried any more... I'll find the right combo. First thing is, I have to find the right bike! Lots out there to choose from!
