Hello, I have been having trouble with my 2004 Dyna Lowrider EFI idling and wanting to shut off if I accelerate. At start up everything runs fine, but after riding for a good 40min the problem begins. The only way to get the motorcycle moving again is if I very slowly increase the throttle. If I accelerate normally it shuts off and struggles to turn back on. If it does shut off I would have to wait 15 min before it starts right back up and runs fine again. I smell gas and my spark plugs now have carbon deposits covering them. Any idea what to look for? I think it might be something heating up and causing the problem
Spark plugs black? Too rich sounds like it's flooding it self out. Go by the look of your plugs spark plugs. Adjust your air fuel on carb. Head over to the carb section for how to fix

I once spent weeks of my spare time chasing a rich running problem on a carbureted bike. Same symptoms: black plugs, stalling, hard to restart, etc. Turns out the problem was the ignition switch causing low voltage to the ignition system, and particularly to the coils.
QUOTE=Dan89FLSTC;21858232]Sorry, I have no experience with MMI fuel injection either.
Are you sure a 2004 Dyna FI is Magneti Marelli (MMI) fuel injection?
My services diagnostics manual and fish looks the same as my 04 Softail?
DenaliDyna, does bike have a aftermarket tuner?
