Forgot to have Darkhorse use ARP bolts for the case. I know I can get some covers for them to go away, but how risky would it be to pull these one at a time and replace with ARP? Am I crazy to even think about it?
So got the lower end painted today. Had a few small gouges in the case I just blended out a little and painted over. Can hardly tell that they were there.
Found a 2015 Dyna Fat Bob 49mm complete front end on eBay last night. He wanted $889 for it. I made another for $500 and surprisingly he took it. I am pretty sure it should just bolt on, the neck size is the same length. Might need a different bearing based, not sure. The fork legs have some corrosion on them, and due to fat bob geometry I prob need to replace them anyways, I think they are a little too long. The tress will get stripped as powder coated along with the lowers, I have a set of dual HD Brembos I took off my street glide so those should fit. Well see when it gets here.
Also did the official first piece of re-assembly today. Out the oil pan back on the trans case.
Looks like a chunk of red loctite. Possibly stuck in the bottom of a threaded hole that they had to dig out or maybe some red that fell into the cases when you pulled the motor.
It was globs of silicone/rtv that got jammed in one of the mounting holes from the inner primary case to the crankcase that caused the hairline crack Darkhorse had to repair.

I've thought about doing the same thing with ARPs on my crankcase. A few people chimed in and said it'd be okay, but I didn't have the guts. Did you ask Darkhorse to see what they say?

I think because it is not installed and nothing is really connected or torqued to it, if I went one at a time I should be ok. I know they use a sealant between the halves, as long as that is not disturbed I should be good.
But then again, the bolts are mostly covered by the primary so why bother?
