Now that I know it's an "over the seat" bag and not an "over the fender" bag, I'll check it out. Looks like a good option.

It doubles as good back support. I have it sitting on top of the pillion seat and strapped to a quick detach sissybar (sorry that doesn’t answer your question about mounting without a sissybar)

Thanks for your pics. At present I am open to everything, till I make my purchase, hopefully based on a more informed decision. Could you tell me what that seat with the ABS tail box.I do have a quick detach backkrest for the pillion which I can remove.
At my age I sometimes find that too much choice is actually confusing....and delays / postpones the purchase!

Also, you say that you don't want a sissybar. You're going to have to secure that bag really well to the bike with nothing to keep it from sliding backwards.

Good luck. Hopefully someone with experience with that particular bag will chime in here.

Yes the side "wings" if you will. Sound like from other comments they don't touch, which is great news. I have a step up 2 up seat, so the bag would hopefully sit high enough, and straps under the seat

Sorry I’m not 100% sure I understand the question but mine is fitted to a quick detach sissy bar. And sitting on a sundowner seat which I’ll be changing out for a tall boy seat soon. I also run a smaller bag on the rack behind the sissy bar for wet weather gear and tools

I got this bag and I gotta say, with my 2upStepup seat it worked perfectly.
Used Rokstraps to hold it on all 4 corners, front to the shock towers, rear to the turn signals
It doesn't touch the fenders at all, and held tightly in place for 350 miles each way. Coming home ther

That looks like a good option for a solo rider. It is like the RevPack soft luggage I have that is now 20 years old. I still use it on my 2019 FLHTP on the passenger seat when I tent camp. Learning how to pack stuff in that shaped bag is an adventure.
